AEC Substrate system

Aminoethyl carbazole (AEC) is an alcohol soluble chromogen. Under the presence of peroxidase, it will

generate a reddish deposit at the reaction location on tissue sections. The AEC kit contains substrate buffer,

AEC chromogen and H₂O₂  substrate. All reagents are provided at 20x concentration liquid form. It requires

a simple dilution.

DAB and Enhancer

3,3’ Diaminobenzidine (DAB) is the most commonly used chromogen for Immunohistochemistry staining.

In the presence of peroxidase enzyme, DAB produces a brown precipitate that is insoluble in alcohol. 

GBI DAB kits contain three components: DAB substrate buffer, DAB chromogen and Hydrogen Peroxide.  

 All buffers are  supplied in 20x concentration.  It requires a simple dilution.

DAB enhancer is supplied at 20x concentrated or ready-to-use solution. It is specially formulated to enhance

DAB staining on tissue section. It will increase the sensitivity of DAB on stained tissue. 20x concentrate format

DAB+ and TMB

DAB+ is designed in a two-component format. It is more sensitive than regular DAB.   It shows crystal sharp

picture upon react with HRP enzyme.  Its sensitivity is equal to leading company’s product.  

TMB is  one component ready-to-use microwell substrate solution. Blue reaction product is obtained when

react with peroxidase.  It is used for microwell ONLY.  It is NOT recommended for membrane or immunohis-

tochemistry applications.
